The UK is currently in the midst of the worst financial crisis it has seen in decades.
Stocks and shares on the FTSE have plummeted by nearly £100billion in the last month alone, wiping millions of people’s pensions and savings, British and European banks are looking increasingly unstable as Northern Rock and more recently, Icelandic bank Landsbanki have gone under, and young couples are struggling to claw their way up the housing ladder in Britain.
As economic conditions cause Brits to worry more and more about their financial stability, a growing number are investing their money in Cyprus.
This trend has been picked up on by property investment experts Buy Into Cyprus, which have offices in the UK and Cyprus.
“We have noticed a growing number of Britons of all ages, financial backgrounds and walks of life enquiring about the range of different investment options we have available for them in Cyprus,” explained Derek Hatton, director of the company. “These financial vehicles aside, you can use the place straight away and take advantage of the year-round sunny weather. Our enquiry levels are up around 40% on last year’s figures.”
Buy Into Cyprus have tailored their new apartments and villas alongside the island’s only PGA accredited golf course development, currently under construction near the town of Larnaca to suit a range of buyers.”
A recent survey found that over 80% of British people aged between 25 – 55 did not believe that the government could provide them with an adequate pension when they retire and are looking at overseas property as a place to invest in their future.
Fortunately, Cyprus is as close to the UK as can get, minus the rainy weather, expensive living and increasing crime rate. Cyprus has an English Common Law system, making it easy to buy your property, is part of the EU so relocating is straightforward, personal tax rates are one of the lowest in the UK and crime rates are also negligible.
Buy Into Cyprus are the lastest branch from Morpheus Investments who are now members of the Association of International Property Professionals (AIPP). The body aims to improve the standards of professionalism in the international property market, helping the industry and the public.
AIPP Members voluntarily sign up to follow the AIPP Code of Conduct. This was established to help consumers know who the professional property companies are and illustrates a sign of commitment from each member.
